Maximum robust, maximum safety

The demands being made on the active and passive safety of new cars continue to rise and the application of the most up-to-date safety elements in ŠKODA vehicles is a response to this trend.
For instance, in EU countries the ABS system including MSR and Dual Rate vacuum-assist power brakes is now standard, and is naturally offered on the basic Fabia Combi as well. However, the structure of other packages of electronic assistance road stability systems has changed. The packages ABS Plus (ABS, MSR, Dual Rate, tyre pressure monitoring) and ESP Plus (ESP, ABS, MSR, ASR, EDS, HBA, Dual Rate, tyre pressure monitoring, start-up assistant) are now available. Another new feature in the Fabia range is the hill hold control, well known from the Octavia, Yeti and Superb ranges. The standard equipment includes airbags for driver and passenger. The vehicle can be fitted upon request with head airbags and side airbags in the front with unfastened driver safety belt signal.

Another safety feature includes three-point safety belts (height-adjustable in front), head rests in the front and rear, space for attaching ISOFIX child seats on the rear seats, a fuel flow interruption system in the event of an accident, and other safety elements.

Head airbags

After activation the head airbag creates a wall along the entire side section of the interior. They thus protect passengers in front and in the rear against serious injury.

Headlights

The projector halogen headlights have undergone technical changes and changes in design. For full beam there is now an independent reflector on the internal side of the headlight, while dipped beam is provided by a projector module. The optically active surface of the headlights has been increased improving road illumination.

In the event of an accident

In the event of an accident a warning light comes on automatically, the internal lights come on and the central locking system is released. In order to reduce the risk of fire the fuel pump switches off and seals the supply of fuel from the fuel tank.

Protection of pedestrians

Fabia Combi vehicles respect EU directives on the protection of pedestrians. The risk of injury in the event of a collision is significantly lower thanks to the distance of he bonnet from fixed parts in the engine space, design modifications to the front bumper, and other energy absorbing parts.
